A Merry Christmas from Great How

First things first - I hope everyone has had a great Christmas, and with New Year's Eve fast approaching at least I also have time to wish everyone the very best for 2015.  Christmas can be time for reflection, and I have to say 2014 has been quite a special year.

2014 began quietly, with only a visit to London for Rubber Cult to liven up the first couple of dreary months of the year.  March saw me move into the new apartment, and Spring also saw a retro theme to the season, with visits to York and the Atomic festival in Northampton.  Sitting in the chill of a frosty Manchester morning, the heat and sunshine at Atomic seems a long, long time ago.

One of the best memories were certainly of my visit to Berlin for the German Fetish Ball.  I still talk very fondly of my time in the German capital, and can't wait to head back there in the future.  The fetish events themselves were outstanding, but I loved the history and vibe of the city just as much.  A gratuitous photo from Berlin, blending the history (the Berlin Wall) and fetishism (latex catsuit, of course) is surely due, and I don't think I've used this one before...

Dexi Delite - The Wall, Berlin

2014 was also my first trip to the Silvertone Classic meeting during the summer, an event that again I won't forget.  THAT Dodge Charger... mmmm.  Like Atomic, the blazing sun in the photos from the Oulton Park Gold Cup in August seem a distant memory and remind me that it actually was a very good summer regarding weather.

I also won't forget the amazing time at Hard Rock Hell in North Wales in November, and can't wait to see many of the faces back there in 2015.  Winter 2014 began in a rather debauched fashion with some sexy fun at Ess&Emm and then the KFS party in November.  Bloody brilliant!

And so 2014 comes to a close - and in the usual fashion.  Christmas Day began with a very early collection from Manchester for the long and lovely drive up the the Lake District.  In previous years the rag-tag group of Christmas walkers has made it to Loweswater, Rydal Mount and Rydal Water, Elterwater and Falcon Crag at Derwent Water.  With changeable weather forecast, it was decided that this year's walk would be kept fairly low and simple, so by 9.30am we were parking up at Thirlmere in the North Lakes for an ascent to Great How.  At only 600 feet, it's certainly the simplest walk yet that the group has done on Christmas Day, but still offered tremendous views over Thirlmere and the surrounding fells.

The walk itself starts quite easily, with a trek down a paved road towards Thirlmere dam, and the mild and cloudy weather certainly made the colours of the surrounding hillsides vibrant.

Dexi Delite - the walk to Great How
The walk then took us off the main track and into the woods alongside Thirlmere, sometimes dropping close to the water's edge.  It was hard going, mainly due to slightly boggy ground and fallen branches and trees.

Dexi Delite - Thirlmere, from the bottom of Great How

After some time, the path began a steep ascent, but the views, especially once the trees dropped away, were quite lovely, and the very low cloud on the surrounding fells confirmed that the decision to take an easy challenge this year was the correct one.

Dexi Delite - Thirlmere from Great How

After some exertion over the final and somewhat steep sections, we reached the top of Great How, and the views from the North and South summits were quite lovely for a relatively small hill.

Dexi Delite - Thirlmere from south summit, Great How

Dexi Delite - towards Keswick from north summit, Great How
After descending back down Great How we headed off to nearby Keswick for a round of after-walk drinks at The Royal Oak (formerly The Inn At Keswick).  Sadly, I have to report that the lovely Christmas ambience that I remembered from last year, with the pub full of locals, walkers and dogs, has been replaced by what looks more like a restaurant.  There was no Christmas Tree or decorations, and luckily, as the first in through the door on the day, bagged the only non-eating table left.  I still had a lovely mulled cider (or was it three? Hmmm...) before we headed back to the car for the southbound journey to Manchester in the late afternoon.  A lovely Christmas, but I fear we may be searching for a new venue for our Christmas drinks next year.

This week's Picture Of The Week, and the last of the year, follows on from the theme of one I took on Christmas Day last year.  Before we left Manchester I was asked, jokingly, if I was taking my high heels again (like last year).  High heels on a fellside?  Of course.  I hope you enjoy the picture on my Gallery page - it was actually very tricky to do this year!

Lastly, have a great New Year (if I'm not seeing you beforehand!) and as January, for once, looks very busy, there should be a few things to blog about to get 2015 off to a brilliant start!

November Reign

To say I've been looking forward to this last weekend would be an understatement - but initially it started with booking a ticket back in June, to see former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash perform at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester on the Friday night (it's still the MEN Arena to me, though!), which later, it turned out, to be on the same weekend as a fetish event that I wanted to go to on the Sunday night.  Never mind, I thought while booking the fetish event, at least I'll have a day to rest between the two events.  Err, no, as it happened, a friend's 50th fell directly inbetween the two dates.  So - three nights partying in very different parts of the country...

Friday first, then.  I made sure I had no late bookings for the Friday afternoon so that I could catch the tram from Altrincham to the city centre.  Everything, for once, went to plan, and by 7.00pm I had found my seat in the Arena in time to catch the first support band.  I'm sure they were called 20/20 and were from Australia/Los Angeles, though I can't seem to find them on Google.  They were pretty good, with a bit of a fusion between rock and funk.

Dexi Delite - 20/20, Twenty 20, twent... oh fuck it.  They were quite good.
I preferred them to the main support act - California Breed.  When they came onstage I was pretty sure that the singer/bass guitarist was familiar.  I stated this to the couple of friends that I was with, who rather disdainfully said "Of course he's familiar."  "Was he in that band called Black Lace from the 1980's?" I asked.  They nearly fell off their seats laughing.  No, it wasn't one of the Black Lace duo, but Glenn Hughes, once of Deep Purple fame and more recently the brilliant Black Country Communion supergroup, it transpired.

Dexi Delite - Agadoo, doo doo.... sorry Glenn, I didn't recognise you!
The biggest cheer was when they finished with an old Deep Purple song, 'Burn', but they weren't really my thing.  At least he didn't play Agadoo.

By 9.30pm the main man, Slash (along with his backing band Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators) hit the stage for a fantastic set featuring new material and some Guns N' Roses classics too.  I saw Myles Kennedy in another band, Alter Bridge, quite a few years ago, and he's certainly got a fantastic voice... plus, I wouldn't be averse to having him stick his microphone and certain body parts wherever he wanted should I ever get him alone.  A girl can but only dream.

Dexi Delite - Slash, with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators

A deafening roar went up as the opening notes of Sweet Child Of Mine began, the old Guns N' Roses hit.  It's fairly scary to think that this song is now 27 years old!  The band finished with another legendary encore, Paradise City, bringing, as they say, the house down.  A fantastic start to the weekend.

I still had to get up early in order to make my second journey of the weekend on the Saturday morning - this time southbound for the Ess & Emm dungeon in Warwickshire for a friend's 50th birthday party.  Luckily, friends from Preston were also going along, so it was a small detour for them to collect me, for which I am grateful - the trains are both costly and make the journey even longer.

It was a fetish-themed party of course, and I chose my red catsuit again.  I know it's been worn a lot recently, but 1) a lot of people attending the party hadn't seen it up until then, and 2) I love it anyway!

We all stopped at the nearby Holiday Inn in Banbury, and this week's Picture Of The Week was taken in the rather corporate corridors represented by a large hotel chain.  It was only a short drive from there to Ess&Emm itself, thankfully, as the evening mist was getting very dense by the time we headed for the party.  As the host of the party has been a familiar face on the fetish scene for may years, there was plenty of people there that I knew, and it was great to see so many friends and indeed chat to people that I hadn't spoken to in years.  The subject of the great fetish scene of the 1990's arose often with fond memories.

The last time I went to Rubber Cult fetish club in September I'd met a certain stunning brunette lady and had some girl-on-girl fun in the toilets, so I couldn't have been more pleased when she arrived at the party too, in a skimpy black latex catsuit.  We pretty much leapt on each other, and were soon kissing and unzipping each other's catsuits.  I stroked, kissed and sucked on her gorgeous breasts, and getting her thick hard nipples into my mouth was simply divine.  She suddenly dropped to her knees and unzipped my catsuit at the crotch, before playing with my pussy.  We were still in the busy kitchen at this point, but it was a rather open-minded crowd of course, so everyone just seemed happy to stand back and watch... and maybe take the odd photo, too.

Dexi Delite - You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties
It didn't take long before a gorgeous blonde in a long skintight latex dress joined us, and we ended up sharing bodily juices between the three of us.  Mmmm.

Later on, in the dungeon area itself, I took the stunning blonde over to a padded bench, unzipped her long body-hugging latex dress and gave her a very sexy spanking.  Her arse cheeks were left rosy, hot and somewhat bruised, and despite cupping my palms, my hands were a little bruised too.  I was then approached by a well-dressed gent carrying a large bag, who asked me if I would spank him.  I sadly showed him my reddened palms and declined, but when he opened his bag and showed me a collection of fine whips I was soon bending him over the bench and working on his arse with a variety of implements, building up to a fine and stinging cane.  Wonderful.

It was a superb night, and one I won't forget in a hurry.  As we left to head back to the Holiday Inn it was 4.00am, and the party was still going on, so I think it was going to be one the host won't forget, too.

Sunday had already arrived by the time I found my bed (sadly alone - both the brunette and the blonde had arrangements to stay elsewhere), but I didn't stay there too long.  After actually making it up in time for breakfast we packed the car and headed south again - this time for Berkshire and a little boutique hotel for my second trip to the little Tim Woodward gathering.  The last time I visited was in March this year and had a great time, so was looking forward to it, even though it was now my third long night in a row.

We arrived at the hotel a little early, but the kindly staff let us check in early and I managed to get a couple of hours rest before getting ready for the evening event.  This time I chose my gorgeous Kiku corset with black lined stockings, high-heeled boots and leather gloves...

Dexi Delite - dressing for not-your-usual-dinner-party
It was an early start to the nght, with the plan to meet for drinks in the hotel bar at 7.00pm before a three-course meal at 8.00pm.  I found myself sat opposite a lovely German couple, and we had a long chat about my recent visit to Berlin for the German Fetish Ball.  Sat to my left was a very dapper chap in evening suit with a very glamorous and sexy lady alongside.  After the final course she slipped off her long black evening gown to reveal a latex bra and girdle, long sexy stockings and Louboutin high heels.  Mmmmm, I thought, very nice.  We soon got talking in the bar area, and we both made it quite clear that we liked the company of girls as much as gentlemen, and I was delighted to find that she had a very sharp sense of humour to go along with her sexiness.  We mingled a little with the rest of the guests, but as soon as I could without appearing too rude I asked the couple back to my room to have a more private party.  They readily agreed, and soon the lady, M, and I were on the bed whilst her partner made himself comfortable for the sexy show.

I removed my lace top and nipple pasties and turned to M, kissing her deeply while stroking her gorgeous arse.  We moved onto the large double-bed and I laid back.  M lowered herself onto me kissing my lips before moving down to my breasts, where she spent some time teasing and licking my stiff nipples.  Very quickly my silk panties were removed and her tongue was flicking over my clit, while she explored my slick pussy with her long fingers.  I had the foresight when packing to bring some vibrators and a dildo (just in case), and soon she had the vibrator on my clit whilst easing the dildo into my now very wet cunt.  As she played with me I felt my orgasm rushing to a climax, and I came heavily as she thrust the dildo into me.

Her partner joined us, and after he'd laid back on the bed I straddled his face while M stroked his hard cock.  As his tongue traced around my clit and dipped into my pussy I eased myself down so we were in the 69 position, and I took his cock into my mouth while M stroked his balls.  With my pussy on his mouth and two sets of hands on his cock it wasn't long before he came, shooting his thick spunk over his stomach.

As we recuperated we spent a long time talking before heading back to the main party, before saying our goodbyes and promising to meet up again - I certainly hope so, anyway.  A wonderful end to a very memorable weekend.

Highway To (Hard Rock) Hell VIII

Yes, it's November, and so once again it was time to follow the Highway Star westwards on the Highway To Hell (well, the A55) for Pwllheli and more Crazy, Crazy Nights at Hard Rock Hell.  Yes, it's the rock event's 8th year running, and as last year, lots of fantastic music and entertainment were promised from Thursday through to Sunday morning.

It was certainly a promising start.  A now-customary visit to the OK Diner just west of Chester for a late breakfast meant once again bumping into a few groups of rockers on their way to Hard Rock Hell, and I remembered a few of them from meeting them here last year.

This year's journey didn't take us via the scenic route to Anglesey, thank heavens, so we made the Hafan Y Mor Holiday Village on the Llyn peninsula in good time this year.  We all checked in and I was really pleased to find that my VIP Pass meant that I was in a very lovely chalet very close to the main car-park, which meant unloading the car was a lot easier than last year.

Thursday night is the opening night, and for many this is the night to dress-up in the 'theme' of the weekend.  This year the theme was Helloween, so it was time to slip into my red latex catsuit from Cathouse Clothing, add some latex devil horns, and head off to the event's opening ceremony and have a devil of a good time.

As I entered the main hall and removed my coat (it was a bit chilly on Thursday night) I could suddenly feel people staring.  I was a little apprehensive and wondered if the outfit was a bit OTT for a rock night.  "Oh well," I though, "fuck it."  I'd brazen it out.

Oddly, it wasn't long before a group of older gentlemen dressed in a variety of Hellish costumes came over and started chatting, and they were all very charming and complimentary.  As there were bands playing on stage it meant conversation was quite hard to follow, so you had to get your ear very close to whoever you were chatting to.  I did wonder if the guys were missing out on seeing the band, but as one gent put his head down so I could speak into his ear, I realised they weren't missing a bloody thing...

However, I didn't mind as they were brilliant fun, and behaved impeccably.  Soon, the group of five friends that I had travelled with rolled up (who says it's women who take the longest to get ready???) and I could see from their faces (they were all guys, of course) that they were a little dumbstruck by the outfit.  Soon, lots of photos followed, which, well opened the floodgates, so to speak.  While I was chatting to a friend,  I felt a tap on my shoulder.  "Excuse me, love, you look bloody amazing... can I have a photograph taken with you?" came a gentle Scottish voice.  Of course, so I posed with him while his friend took a the picture.  I gave him a peck on the cheek and had barely turned back to my friends when I got another request for a photo.... then another, then another then, well, you probably get the idea.  I think there must be at least 60 photographs of me circulating on various social media sites as I type.

It was a great outfit for breaking the ice, and I met a couple of lovely girls too thanks to the outfit, as they also wanted photos.  One in particular, a gorgeously foxy redhead, I was determined to bump into again over the course of the weekend.

I didn't catch many of the bands of course, but made sure I saw a bit of Massive Wagons and happily they played their brilliant song 'Red Dress'.  Sadly, the sexy girls from the video never made it on stage with them,
but it was still a fantastic end to the night.

It was after midnight when I finally headed back to my warm and cosy chalet - a brilliant first night.

Friday dawned, and the promised clear skies hadn't materialised.  Cloud and rain meant a dull start to the day, but as all the entertainment is under cover it didn't spoil things too much.  The bands are split into two venues at Hard Rock Hell, and at 2.00pm the main hall opened, which would be featuring the big headlining bands of the weekend.  A great band called Texas Flood started the show with some superb blues-rock styled songs.  My VIP Pass again gave me a better view than last year, and a seat too!

Dexi Delite -The Texas Flood @ Hard Rock Hell 8

There were quite a few people who recognised me from Thursday night - the usual comment was "You were the girl in that red outfit - WOW!" which was lovely to hear.  I watched a couple of other bands before heading back to the chalet to change yet again for the coming night's entertainment.

I obviously couldn't repeat the success of the catsuit, but in truth I didn't want to try.  Skin-tight latex is great for doing many things in, but sat watching bands for seven hours isn't one of them.  I decided to wear my leather corset, thigh boots and tight leggings.

The first band to really catch my attention were The Brew, who played a brilliant and energetic set, and they weren't afraid to slow the pace and play some heavy blues, including some slide guitar.  The guitarist even brought out a violin bow, ala Jimmy Page, for a wild solo.  Fantastic.  I'd thoroughly recommend seeing these guys again.

Dexi Delite - The Brew @ Hard Rock Hell 8

Next up were Y&T, who have been recording and touring for 40 years!  Their experience showed in a very polished set, sadly which had to be cut short due to all of the previous bands over-running.  Not quite my style of rock, but I could see how well they played and was disappointed that they couldn't do a deserved encore - as were the crowd, who gave the band a standing ovation.

Dexi Delite - Y&T @ Hard Rock Hell 8
Swedish AC/DC-style rockers Krokus followed Y&T with a more straight-forward rock set, but I was rather distracted by three gorgeous girls on stilts who were wandering the arena.  I'd met them the previous night, and took the opportunity to say hello again - partly because they were lovely and very sexy, and partly because their gorgeous arses and crotches were just about face-height.  Mmmmmmm.....

Queensryche finished the night's entertainment, again a band whose music didn't really grab me, and I thought they had an awful sound too, with the vocals being lost in the mix.  I was in a minority though, as it appeared that they were the favourite of many of the fans there.  As Queensryche left the stage I found that the foxy redhead had come to find me, and we had a long and interesting chat about music and the fetish scene (she'd met me while I was wearing the catsuit, of course).  We had stepped into the foyer in order to talk more easily when a couple of gents appeared and began talking to us.  They complemented me on my outfit, and asked if we'd seen Y&T onstage.  I replied that we had, and they revealed themselves to be the group's drummer and rhythm guitarist, so I was a little embarrassed that I hadn't recognised them.  They were brilliant to chat with though, and clearly didn't take themselves too seriously at all.  What a great end to the night.  I trotted off back to my chalet a very happy girl.

The sun arrived in all it's splendour on the Saturday morning, and it was bright and warm when I stepped outside.  I decided to head for the second stage initially, and I'm very glad that I did.  The second band on that morning turned out to be Black State Highway, who as well as having a very sexy lead singer were also bloody brilliant.

Dexi Delite - Black State Highway @ Hard Rock Hell 8
They played some great thundering rock, and even though at times the singer's voice became lost in the sound she still sounded superb - husky and sexy.  I intended only to stay for a song or two, but ended up watching the whole set and then heading straight off to the merchandise stall to buy their CD.

Dexi Delite - Black State Highway @ Hard Rock Hell 8
Oh, and she had a fantastic arse too, I noticed.

I headed over to the main arena next, as I'd heard good things about the first band on the main stage - Blues Pills.  I wasn't disappointed.  With a heavy blues-based sound straight from the late 60's (think early Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, etc) they were utterly fantastic.  Devil Man, in particular, blew me away.  Outstanding sound, outstanding arrangements, and an amazing singer.  If you get a chance to either see or hear this band, then they really are another Dexi-recommendation, and definitely one of the best bands of the whole weekend.

Dexi Delite - Blues Pills @ Hard Rock Hell 8
Once again I headed back to change in readiness for the night - this time I chose a silver jumper (just long enough to be a dress and my thigh boots again), and set off back for the main arena.

Dexi Delite - Hard Rock Hell 8
There was a bit of pure psychedelic rock theatre next, courtesy of Big Elf.  'Bizarre' would only start the description, and after the first two songs (both about seven minutes long) I headed off to find drinks and refreshments.  I will, however, mention that their guitarist for the set was John Wesley, from Porcupine Tree, for the benefit of D who reads the blog!

Next up came hard rockers Diamond Head, whose heavy riffs banished the lingering fairy dust (or whatever it was) of Big Elf.  They got the crowd moving again, who had stood in a bit of a trance while Big Elf played, and their encore was a ripping version of "Am I Evil", a song covered by Metallica and Rob Zombie among others.

Dexi Delite - Diamond Head @ Hard Rock Hell 8
Normality restored.  Thank heavens.

Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock band followed.  For those who don't know, Michael Schenker began his career with German rock band Scorpions, before leaving to join UFO, then returning to Scorpions for a brief time, eventually going his own way with the Michael Schenker Band and Temple Of Rock.  They hit the stage running, ripping through UFO's Doctor Doctor, an immediate crowd-winner.  I was very surprised to see the Prime Minister, David Cameron, on drums, but found later in the band introduction that it was in fact Herman Rarebell from Scorpions!  Separated at birth, I assume.  The biggest cheers of the set came for some of the old Scorpions tracks Lovedrive and the sublime yet pounding instrumental Coast To Coast.  A great set, and quite amazing considering that the band had flown in from Paris on the morning and were heading straight back to France the following day.

Dexi Delite - Michael Schenker @ Hard Rock Hell 8
The main headlinders were on next - Blue Oyster Cult.  The legendary American band have been treading the boards for a few decades now, and played a well-constructed set, culminating, of course, with the seminal Don't Fear The Reaper.  It was a blistering end to the set, and they left the stage to a standing ovation - well earned indeed.

Dexi Delite - Blue Oyster Cult @ Hard Rock Hell 8
Girlschool had a tough act to follow, and I'm sad to say that I didn't stay to see all of their set as I was in desperate need of food.  I stepped outside the arena and found the clear skies that had blessed the day had remained - unfortunately, with no cloud cover, it meant it was bloody freezing!!!  I grabbed a pizza and headed back to my chalet.  Satisfied?  Totally.

Dexi Delite - Girlschool @ Hard Rock Hell 8
Sunday arrived all too soon, and it was time to pack, pick up the boys from their shambolic caravan, and head back away from North Wales.  Once again, a wonderful weekend with brilliant bands, fabulous friends (old and new), and I've already booked for next year.  Roll on Hard Rock Hell 9!

Massaging The Website

Just a quick update as I head into what is looking like a very busy party month!

I thought it was time the website had a little update.  Nothing major, but the popularity of my massage service has deemed that the service should have it's own page.  So, there's a new Picture Of The Week on my Gallery Page to welcome the new Massage page and I hope you get to see it before it disappears - though I have a strong feeling it will emerge on the website permanently at some point.  It is already one of my favourite photos so far... and the photo session was wonderful, too - thank you Miss K.

Many see the opportunity for a relaxed, sensual session (with a rather, er, climatic ending, of course!) as a bit of an introduction before sampling my other skills, and it certainly seems to be an ideal way to have a first meeting.

So, as I am but 5 minutes walk from the centre of Altrincham's tram stop, you too can make plans to leave work early and head for my boudoir...

...before relaxing on the bed and indulging in some deliciously decadent Dexi delights...

In the meantime, I'm readying myself for some (hopefully) rather rude parties that will be coming up this month, and a bit of light music entertainment too...

I am looking forward to keeping you updated!

Sequins And Stockings... Part 2

Unlike last year, I haven't managed to attend any 1940's events through the summer.  This weekend saw the last of the year's main 1940's weekends in the lovely North Yorkshire town of Pickering, and knowing it was going to be the last chance to catch up with retro-minded friends, I made a determined effort to visit.

It was a very early start from Manchester at 8.00am, which felt even earlier than usual considering I didn't get to bed until nearly 2.00am after the trip to Blackpool.  So, stockings and heels on, and a vintage coat over my dress to keep the early chill away, I managed to be ready for my companions to collect me.  It was a slow start to the journey, as there are currently endless 50mph limits on sections of the M60 and M62 motorways, along with thick banks of fog on the day of travel, but Pickering was finally reached at 10.00am as planned.  A decision to park at the Pickering showground was to be firstly, a poor choice, and secondly, bloody annoying.  The website showed 'Free Entry' - yes it was, as long as you paid £8 to park your car.  The Park and Ride scheme which offered travel between the showground and the town was free, though.  Oh, except for the £1 each way, which, for those who were camping for the whole weekend, made it somewhat more costly than expected.  I don't begrudge paying my way, but it all seemed a little underhand - the organisers should be truthful about costs - these events have to be paid for, but please don't pretend that something is free when it clearly is not.

The early morning mist was still enveloping the showground when we arrived, which gave a rather eerie appearance to the (so far) uncrowded morning.  Just in sight, away from the main path, a WW2 tank sat brooding in the quiet mist, whilst its crew readied it for the day.

Dexi Delite Independent Escort - Pickering 1940's Weekend 2014
The stroll over to the main arena revealed lots more military vehicles and equipment - the showground would be hosting all of the re-enactments later that day, and it really did seem that an army had invaded.  Without the push and noise of the crowds, it really was quite spectacular in its stillness and detail.

Dexi Delite Independent Escort - Pickering 1940's Weekend 2014
The main hall at the showground had a vintage fair, and I still had a look around even though I have more than enough vintage clothing.  There were a few more vehicles on display at the main hall, and plenty of food and refreshments on offer.  Feeling somewhat peckish, I was tempted by a small refreshment tent that offered a veggie sausage sandwich and hot tea and seating to eat them in comfort.  Fabulous.

Dexi Delite Independent Escort - Pickering 1940's Weekend 2014
I decided then to make my way into Pickering town itself.  Away from the cold rising mist of the showground, the sun was out in force on a lovely October day.  The town was buzzing with re-enactors and visitors.  A brass band played in the warming sunshine, and groups of people gathered outside pubs and cafes.  It was lovely and relaxed, with none of the heaving crowds of some other events - the split between showground and the town spread the visitors around nicely.

Dexi Delite Independent Escort - Pickering 1940's Weekend 2014
I managed to finally bump into some very dear friends, and, with us both being rather saucy, wasted no time in comparing stockings - much to the approval of the hoards of watching photographers!

Dexi Delite Independent Escort - Pickering 1940's Weekend 2014
A lovely lunch followed, and more ambling around the delightful town centre, content just to soak up the atmosphere of the day.  Sadly, by 4.00pm I was wilting a little, and it was soon time to head back home as the last steam trains of the day bid their own adieu.

So, lots of fabulous photos and even better memories of a great weekend.  It certainly made me promise to attend a few more 1940's events next year.

Sequins And Stockings... Part 1

It's been a busy weekend and today I'm resting... well, a little.  It started on Saturday night with a rare trip to Blackpool - more specifically, the truly fabulous Winter Gardens.  The last time I was here was in November 2012 for a Hot Rod car show.  This time around I was rather more hoping to be seeing some hot girls instead, at the first ever Burlesque Noir show.

Although the Blackpool illuminations were on (and I have bad memories of being stuck in the traffic the last time I was here) the trip north from Manchester was perfect timing and thankfully traffic was fairly light - possibly as it was a fairly early start to the show as the doors opened at 6.30pm.  The main draw was the inimitable Immodesty Blaize, a lady that I've never been lucky enough to see perform previously, although possibly the premier performer on the Burlesque scene in the UK and Europe.

The early arrival gave me a chance to have a quick look at the Winter Gardens themselves, and I have to say I absolutely adored the art deco style of the building - there were glorious touches of elegance and stunning design everywhere you looked.

The doors finally opened a little later than planned, and already there was quite a queue - the event had sold out very early, and many people clearly had arrived hoping to bag the best seats. Thankfully, I'd had the foresight to book VIP tickets, which not only gave reserved seating, but a table, wine, goodie bag (with Blackpool rock, of course), delicious cupcakes and table service!

It also gave a good view of the stage, which would come in very handy later on.  Before the show began, the early arrivals were treated to free chocolates, from Capt. Jack Sparrow and a very lovely mermaid, and performances by magicians and a fire-eating 'bearded' lady.

The show itself began at 8.00pm, and featured a plethora of top-notch acts from the burlesque world, including the very talented Kiki De Ville and the brilliantly funny Velma von Bon Bon.  However, the temperature (well, certainly mine) increased when the astounding curves of Violet Blaze (no relation to Immodesty!) hit the stage.  Her first act was centred around Cadbury's milk chocolate, and I'd have died a happy woman if I could have licked melting, sweet chocolate from her delicious bountiful curves.  Sex appeal?  She could fill Winter Gardens all on her own with the amount she has.

That left the final performance of the first set to Immodesty herself.  Immodesty really does tick all the boxes.  Glamorous?  Gorgeous?  Astonishingly sexy?  Professional?  Talented?  Mesmerisingly beautiful?  Yes, all of those, and more.  She shimmered onto the stage, a modern day 50's glamour goddess in sheer sparkling sequined glory, and proceeded to disrobe tantalisingly and devilishly, oozing seduction and sensual sexuality.  Yes, she was breath-taking.  The other performers were fabulous, especially Violet and Velma, but Immodesty really put a different level to the entertainment, and it's easy to see why she has toured the world and entertained royalty and the glitterati with her performances.

There was a short interval, mainly to calm and cool down after the performances, before the second bout of entertainment.  This mirrored the initial shows, and once again Velma von Bon Bon almost stole the show with a routine that involved three costume changes in her act.  However, as brilliant as the acts were I found myself waiting in excited anticipation for the arrival of Violet Blaze again.

Once again, she left me wondering if Immodesty could top Violet's performance, which ended with a dazzling and mesmerising display of tassle-twirling.  I found myself hollering at the top of my voice as her performance ended.

I was left all heavenly hot and beautifully bothered as her chocolate caramel curves departed the stage, leaving the compere to announce the final act of the night - Immodesty once again.

This time she was resplendent in fiery red satin - a Las Vegas showgirl fallen to become the Devil's Temptress.  The very bowels of Hell couldn't have been any hotter than that stage, her dance enthralling a captivated crowd.  I'd have signed my soul away there and then for one kiss from her scarlet lips.  Astounding.

As she left the stage to yet another standing ovation, I was left with the feeling that, after watching Immodesty's performances, I'll never quite see anything to match it, nor see burlesque in quite the same way again.  This is truly how it should be done.

It was a rapid trip back to Manchester (thankfully avoiding the Illuminations traffic this time), as I had an early start planned for Sunday.... more of which next week.

This week's Picture Of The Week, a little later than usual due to my Sunday excursion, is a snapshot from Burlesque Noir.  It brings back some wonderful recollections from the night - it will be a long, long time before I forget the performances of Immodesty Blaize.
