It certainly started well. New Year's Eve was a decidedly last-minute affair, with Manchester's over-hyped night entertainment scene once again lacking in anything original or off-the-wall. So it was left to myself and a group of friends to meet up in Manchester's still fairly independent and interesting Northern Quarter for a drink. I squeezed into my lovely new 'Marilyn Monroe Lorelei Dress' from Vintage Twists, and headed off via taxi to Northern Quarter.
Meeting point was The Whiskey Jar, and as I arrived early I managed to grab a table before my friends arrived. By the time they'd arrived I had already treated myself to one Lemon Cheesecake Cocktail - it tasted like the dessert with a real alcohol punch secreted within it's delicious sweetness. Mmmm... lip-smackingly lovely. I had a second one for the first round of drinks for us all, and then a third to make sure they were as nice as I'd originally thought. They were.

I already have many plans for 2014. I had neglected much of the fetish scene last year, and that will definitely be remedied this year. Hard Rock Hell VIII is already booked for November, and as it's been over a year since my last visit to the lovely Scottish Highlands (and more whisky) then a trip there is overdue, also.
In the meantime, of course, it is January and the middle of winter... and so the perfect time to head over to Salford Quays at 7.00am in the morning with just a jacket, a pair of fancy tights and high-heeled ankle boots for a photoshoot. Dressed for the occasion - yes. Dressed for the weather - absolutely bloody not. Freezing doesn't begin to describe it, as an Arctic wind whipped up from the surrounding water and chilled my nearly-bare legs and chapped my lips good and proper. Ooooer!
And so this week's (and the first of 2014) Picture Of The Week was endured with great discomfort, and I am already retiring back to bed to soothe and thaw my chilled lips. Mmmm... bliss.
