The reason for the change was quite simple... the Fair had simply outgrown Sound Control, so I was looking forward to visiting the fair at it's new venue. Unfortunately I didn't read the web page so turned up at The Ritz at 11.00am, the opening time of Sound Control. With the Ritz being much larger, the opening time had been put back to midday. Oh well - that meant an hour to kill, so I strolled over the road to grab a bit of brunch at the fabulous Gorilla bar. I managed to get a window seat at Gorilla, and could see the entrance of the club across the road. It was interesting to see a queue beginning to form around 11.30am - clearly others had not seen the new opening time, or it was going to be a busy day ahead for the fair. Over the next thirty minutes I watched the queue grow, with, I have to say, some rather gorgeous girls adding some eye-candy to the proceedings.
Fully refreshed after my impromptu meal, I headed over to the club - even though there was still quite a queue slowly filing its way into the venue.

Inside the cool air of the club there was a riot of colour and styles - and that was just the customers and stall-holders before getting to the stalls themselves.

There is of course is always entertainment too, this time provided by a few burlesque acts and pole-dancers.

The Alternative And Burlesque Fair is actually a great place to spend a few hours, away from the identikit offerings of the Trafford Centre and Manchester city centre, and the Ritz is a brilliant venue for it. It next arrives in Manchester on the 5th December after visiting Bristol, Sheffield, Glasgow and Leeds - it's already in my diary.
This week's Picture Of The Week is just a quick snapshot from the fair, but I do love those high-heeled patent leather sandals. Speaking of my website, it has had it's six-monthly update, with my favourite pictures of the last few months.
I'm looking forward to some more events coming up this summer, so as usual - watch this space!
